Arana Sports secures over $200K in sporting grants for local clubs.
Local cricket and hockey to receive major funds for lighting
Arana Sports is proud to announce we have been able to secure $200,000 in government funding for lighting at the Cricket Grounds at Keperra Picnic Grounds, Tramway Street, Ferny Grove. Both Ferny Districts Cricket Club and Arana Ascot Junior Women’s Hockey Club are to receive $100,000 each to share the newly lit facility at the Cricket Grounds.
These two successful applications will now light the fields to allow night cricket games and training to be played and will allow the Hockey Club to relocate to this field when the lights have been installed, giving them 2 full hockey fields to train on for their 4-17 year old juniors, with full lighting.
Both Arana Ascot Junior Hockey and Ferny Districts Cricket Club would like to thank the Qld Government's Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport & Racing for the successful funding application under the "Get Playing" round of funding which is part of the very popular Get Started suite of funding.
Arana Ascot Junior Hockey have also secured funding to run a Turf Development Program through funds from the Qld Government's "Get Going" program. This will see the players and coaches all being trained on the Turf in the very near future.
West Arana Hills Rugby League have secured funding too from the Qld Government's "Get Going" suite of funding to run a participation program; encouraging more children to become involved in sport.
